Getting Ready for the road

SO I am hitting the road next week and will be posting from the road so stay tuned.....Guadalupes on Thursday. If you are in the area come join us.......we will be bringing a trunk show and loads of Day of the Dead fun.

I have loads of pieces like this stuffed into journals.....favorite faces that I have drawn and then copy and transfer to other pages...it also makes it very quick to see where have I gone wrong on features like noses and lips.

MaryJo McGraw is a nationally known artist teaching  paper art, acrylic and mixed media 

painting techniques for over 20 years. Her product knowledge and innovative methods have

 made her a much sought after instructor at many conventions, retreats, store events and 

cruises all over the USA. She was an often featured guest on the Carol Duvall Show, has 

written nine books on papercraft and created several DVDs as well as working with several

 art, craft supply and rubberstamp companies developing products and techniques.

After years in the papercraft industry MaryJo began working for SAS in 2008 as a teacher 

and has since come on staff full time. Today her interest is mainly in abstract acrylic , encaustic

This lady popped out of one of my prints last night during class.thanks for the fun ladies!

Gelli Plate update

There are days when I need some BRIGHT yellow.......after about a week of gray here in North Idaho ......

So I add yellow to a gelli plate or two. with copics and pan pastels

I feel better now!

Walnut ink.

Can I tell you how much i love WAlnut Ink.....especially on brown paper boxes. I think it is incredibly versatile on paper surfaces.

Mixed Media Classes in Spokane WA and CDA Idaho

So we are beginning a New Year and I want to invite all of you locals to join in on my Mixed Media classes. If you have not been lately come on back! I will be putting out the Gelli Plates for you all to play with for our first class so bring your journal and if you have a Gelli Plate, bring it! If you just want to come and check it out please do.

This month we will have an odd schedule in Spokane at SAS. Wednesday January 8th we will be having our visual journaling class at 5:30pm. Studio Play on Wednesday the 15th and Visual joutrnaling again on the 22nd.
 At Creative Element in CDA we begin on Thursday Jan 9th and again on the 23rd....we will be doing Gelli Plate too so join us for the fun! we start at 4:30pm
